Curious looks at CDC Filters in Las Vegas

Exhibitors and visitors of the construction trade show, CONEXPO, show great interest for the shared booth of HUSS Group and CleanDieselCeramics. The new generation of ceramic particulate filters attract the trade show audience. The filtration rate of at least 99% is of high interest for manufacturers of construction machines, agricultural and other heavy Diesel vehicles, both in the USA and Canada. Emission regulations for particulate matter will become stricter and mandatory in these countries over the next few years. That’s why innovative solutions are urgently requested at this time.

CDC is recruiting new employees, from Accounting to Assembling Quality Managing.

Production in our new manufacturing facility in Großröhrsdorf near Dresden starts in May 2008. Applicant selection procedure starts in March.

We are looking for committed staff members to help us in production extension, preferably with experience in technical ceramics or other high-tech products.

CDC in Las Vegas on world's largest construction fair

CleanDieselCeramics will roll the dice in the USA. From March 11th to 15th, 2008 we present together with HUSS group in the world's largest trade show for construction machines, CONEXPO in Las Vergas.

Manufacturers and operators of construction vehicles in the USA are confronted with strict emission limits. They can be achieved with CDC filters.

The new SiC-filter with it's material advantages is shown for the first time overseas.

Foundation stone in Großröhrsdorf

Under heavy sleet, the Saxonian Prime Minister Georg Milbradt, District Administrator Petra Kockert, Mayor Kerstin Ternes and CEO Thomas Rahn laid the foundation for the new CDC plant in Großröhrsdorf.

Despite the November weather there was a celebratory mood in the tent. All speakers emphasized the importance of the industrial settlement for the business location, "Saxony is coming. Make something out of it!", as quoted by Saxony's Prime Minister Milbradt.

CEO Rahn praised the quick and unbureaucratic assistance by the Free State, the county and the community of Großröhrsdorf.

As of May 2008 there will be up to 40,000 ceramic filters produced per year.

The industrial settlement and the research for a new type of ceramic material for diesel particle filtration was government-funded by the Free State of Saxony.

Above all the investment, research and development of CDC amounts over Four Million Euros.

New SiC filter market-ready

After nearly one and a half years of development with the Fraunhofer Institute for Ceramic Material (IKTS) Dresden the new Silicon Carbide Ceramic filter is application-ready. The 99% outstanding PM reduction rate is tested by external experts.

Under extreme conditions (Heavy Duty & Off Road) the innovative material is needed for diesel particle filters.

The challenges for our engineers were:

• reliable PM reduction greater than 95%
• high thermal and mechanic durance
• improved filter geometry
• highest manufacturing quality
